Family Fun in San Diego

My two-year old daughter already has a case of wanderlust. She talks about hotels, planes and restaurants nonstop. I personally think it was San Diego that sealed the deal for travel. Powder sand beaches, oceanfront resorts, wildlife parks and a land filled with Lego. If toddlers ruled the world, this would be our reality. With so many children’s activities available throughout the San Diego area, we divided our time between Coronado Island in the south and Carlsbad in the north. Coronado is a sun kissed visual feast. Quaint storefronts and colourful historic homes, with perfectly manicured gardens, reflect a host of architectural styles including Craftsman, Spanish Colonial and Italian Renaissance Revival. Ring in the New Year Desert Style

Phoenix has become my go-to for a quick hit of winter sunshine. My husband and I have rung in the New Year in Scottsdale two years running. I’m expecting that this will be the craziest one yet, as we’re bringing our sassy toddler along for the party. There are an astonishing 3.8 million lights that illuminate 700 sparkling displays. This year ice sculptures, live musical performances and a 4-D showing of Polar Express will be added to the line up. Another beautiful luminary event is the Desert Botanical Garden’s Las Noches De Las Luminarias. For 16 nights more than

Her unbridled enthusiasm and bold moves (staring directly into the jets until water shoots her in the face) have now drawn a crowd of onlookers. When new kids dare to enter, my eighteen month-old pre-talking force of nature acts as ambassador, explaining with animated gestures how to properly use the splash zone. My husband and I are in awe. Both of her enthusiasm, and at the fact we’ve been sprawled on lounge chairs for almost an hour doing nothing. An impossible feat when you’re a parent to an active toddler. Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in O’ahu,
